My sweet Chiquita!

Hi all!!!

May I introduce you to my new roommate and friend Chiquita,

she was waiting for me, one month ago, out side my work.

How could I leave her there all alone?

sssso I took her home!

Stephen and my two cats weren’t very happy!!!

….after one month Stephen is happy with our new roommate buttttttt

I wish I could say the same for my cats :P

It’s been a long-long time since my last post

"JOY" of peanutbutter cookies....! A new beginning Μια νεα αρχή με φυστικοβούτυρο!

...when I was young I loved books with lots of pictures, drawings, colors….
now that I am 31 years old…I still like books with lots of pictures, drawing, colors…..
but I am facing a very big problem,
my favorite cooking book- JOY OF COOKING- doesn’t have any!!!!!

Does anyone out there have the same problem????????????????
I am sure the answer is YES!

Sooooooooooooo I decided to do something about it!
Every time I cook a recipe from JOY, I am going to take a beautiful
and yummi picture to share with you all,
and who knows after 1000 years of blogging
I may have a picture of every singe recipe from that book!!!
Of course I will write you the recipe in case you want to give it a try!

I am starting with a very low fat recipe....just joking….
PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Whisk together:
1 ½ cups all-purpose four
½ teaspoon baking soda
Beat in a large bowl until well blended:
1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
Beat in:
1 large egg
1 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
½ teaspoon vanilla
Stir in the flour mixture until blended*. Shape into 1-inch balls and arrange about 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Press flat with a fork. Bake, 1 sheet at a time, about 10 to 12 minutes. Let stand briefly, then remove to rack to cool.

*at this point I add 1 cup of dark chocolate chips!

…όταν ήμουν μικρή μου άρεσαν τα βιβλία με πολλές φωτογραφίες, ζωγραφιές και χρώματα….τώρα που είμαι 31……μου αρέσουν ακόμα τα βιβλία με πολλές φωτογραφίες, ζωγραφιές και χρώματα….αλλά αντιμετωπίζω ένα μεγάλο πρόβλημα,
το αγαπημένο μου βιβλίο μαγειρικής που ονομάζεται JOY OF COOKING
δεν έχει καθόλου φωτογραφίες!!!!

Υπάρχει κανένας άλλος εκεί έξω που να έχει το ίδιο πρόβλημα με εμένα;;;;;;;;
Είμαι σίγουρη πως όλο και κάποιος θα υπάρχει!

Γι’ αυτό αποφάσισα να πάρω την κατάσταση στα χέρια μου!
Κάθε φορά που μαγειρεύω κάτι από αυτό το βιβλίο θα
βγάζω μια όμορφη φωτογραφιούλα για να μοιράζομαι μαζί σας!
Θα σας γράφω βέβαια και την συνταγή
σε περίπτωση που θέλετε να την δοκιμάσετε και εσείς!
Μετά από πρόχειρους υπολογισμούς θεωρώ ότι σε 1000 χρόνια από σήμερα
θα έχω βγάλει μια φωτογραφία  με το αποτέλεσμα κάθε συνταγής  του βιβλίου!

Ξεκινάω λοιπών με μια άκρως διαιτητική συνταγή….

Cookies με φυστικοβούτυρο

Προθερμαίνω τον φούρνο στου 180 C.
Ανακατεύω σε ένα μπολ:
1 ½ κούπες αλεύρι μπλε
½ κουταλάκι μαγειρική σόδα
Χτυπάω σε ένα άλλο μπολ:
1/3 κούπας ανάλατο και μαλακό βούτυρο
½ κούπας λευκή ζάχαρη
½ κούπας μαύρη ζάχαρη
Προσθέτω:
1 μεγάλο αυγό
1 κούπα φυστικοβούτυρο
2 βανίλιες

Χτυπάω καλά μέχρι να γίνουν ομοιόμορφο μείγμα*.
Πλάθω την ζύμη με στρογγυλά κουλουράκι 2,5 cm
και τα τοποθετώ σε λαδόκολλα με αρκετή απόσταση (5 cm) μεταξύ τους.
Ψήνω ένα – ένα τα ταψιά με την λαδόκολλα για 10 με 12 λεπτά (ΟΧΙ ΠΑΡΑΠΑΝΩ),
τα αφήνω να κρυώσουν καλά.

* σε αυτό το σημείο εγώ προσθέτω 1 κουβερτούρα σπασμένη σε μικρά κομμάτια.
